Description

A terrace of four houses dating to around 1820. The houses are built of incised whitewashed stucco, with a slate roof largely hidden behind a parapet. They are arranged over two storeys and attics, with basements below. The central three bays project slightly, with a single bay on either side leading to further bays set back at the ends. Chimneys are located to the left and right of the centre, and at the rear. A plat band runs above the first floor and at the base of the parapet.

A central attic window has been blocked. There are 16-pane sash windows with glazing bars on either side of the central section. A tripartite sash window is found in the left-hand bay, with a 16-pane sash in the bay to the right. Casement doors are positioned either side of the centre on the first floor, with single casement doors on the flanking bays. Shallow wrought-iron balcony railings with Anthemion and wave motifs run across the front.

The ground floor features six-pane sash windows with margin lights on either side of the centre, with tripartite sashes flanking. A colonnade of four Greek Doric columns with pedestals spans the central bays, supporting a balcony with scroll panel railings and urn finials at the corners. Steps lead to doors on either side of the centre, with further doors at the set-back end bays. The right-hand end bay has a door beneath a traceried fanlight and a sash window above on the first floor. Another door is positioned on the right-hand side, protected by a flat hood with brackets, and featuring a round-arched glazing-bar sash window in the first floor above.
