Description

This building comprises a house, now divided into two commercial premises, a hairdresser and a bistro. The core of the structure dates to the late 16th and 17th centuries, with a 18th-century front on the left-hand side and 19th-century extensions at the rear. It is timber-framed, with the gable end on the right clad in whitewashed render, and the left side in colourwashed brick. The roof is covered in plain tiles. The building has an L-shape, with a cross wing forming the gable end to the right. There are chimney stacks to the right of the gable and at the rear, with a corbelled stack at the front left. The left side of the front has brick dentil eaves above two 16-pane sash windows on the first floor. A plate glass shop front is below, with a three-quarter glazed door set in a recess, and a further fixed window to the right, framed by panelled wooden piers. The gable end to the right features an attic casement, and one casement window on each floor below. A plate glass shop front occupies the ground floor, with a recessed door to the left. Part of the timber frame is visible at the rear.
