Description

This is a house, now used as offices, with a front dating to the late 17th century. It has been extended and altered in the 18th and 19th centuries, built upon a 16th-century rear wing. The rear of the building is timber-framed and clad in brick, with a plain tiled roof and end gablet. The front facade is red and brown brick with a render plinth and flint panels, tile hung gable ends, and a hipped plain-tiled roof. The house has two storeys and an attic to the front, with an end stack on the right side. It has three bays across the front, with that on the left having been re-pointed and extended. Each bay features a timber panel, and there are three tile-hung dormers above. The first floor has three casement windows, each with gauged-brick heads, plat bands over, and connecting between the bays. The ground floor has two tripartite sash windows, also with similar plat bands. The central door is made of six fielded panels, with lattice tracery to the transom light over, and a flat hood on brackets with an architrave surround. A rear wing projects at a right angle to the front, featuring casement windows. Inside, the rear wing reveals the main posts and stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops in the ceilings.
