Description

This is an early 18th-century house, possibly originally part of Somerset House, now used as shops and offices. The building is constructed of purple-brown brick with a wooden eaves cornice and a hipped roof covered in plain tiles. It is two storeys high with an attic space lit by a dormer with a segmental pediment. A corbelled end stack is located on the left side. The building has three bays, with three 12-pane sash windows across the first floor, each with a gauged-brick head. Modern shop fronts have been added to the ground floor. Photographs are held within the National Monuments Record.
