Description
The Summerhouse at Bradstone Brook is a late 18th-century building, likely constructed around 1791. It is an octagonal structure, with five sides covered in roughcast over timber framing and three sides made of brick, partially covered with tiles. The roof is shingled and features a wooden finial and a brick external chimney stack. There are lean-to extensions on each side, also with shingled roofs.
The front of the building has a double door topped with an ogee-arched fanlight, which contains fishscale-shaped leaded panes. This door is flanked by ogee metal casements, each with similar fanlights and leaded windows that open on pivot hinges. The rear of the building has similar windows.
Inside, the walls are plastered, and there is an 18th-century wooden fireplace, a china cupboard with L-hinges, and wooden shelving. The floor is paved with 20th-century concrete slabs, and there are two stone steps leading into the building.
