Description

These are a pair of cottages located within the churchyard of Holy Trinity Church. They were built in the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of whitewashed brick, with low-pitched slate roofs and corbelled end stacks. Each cottage has two storeys, featuring a 12-pane, glazing-bar sash window on the first floor, with the window on the left having Venetian shutters and the one on the right featuring shutters with pierced trefoil panels. Similar windows are present on the ground floor, each with a gauged brick head. A 19th-century panelled door is located on either side of the centre, set within recessed porches. Each door is topped with an overlight featuring margin tracery. Number 10, on the right, has a flat hood supported by iron brackets. The cottages contribute to the picturesque group of buildings surrounding the churchyard and are included on the list for their group value.
