Description
The Former Bugby Chapel, dating from the 18th century, is notable as the first dissenting chapel in Epsom, named after its first minister, the Reverend Bugby, who passed away in 1772. The building is rendered and features a hipped and sprocketed tile roof. It is a single-storey structure with a brick modillion eaves cornice. On the south side, there are two round-arched windows with intersecting glazing bars, along with panelled double doors that are topped by a gabled hood with a pitched tile roof and bargeboards. The north side has two round-arched sash windows. The Former Bugby Chapel and Rose Cottage form a group with Nos 1 to 17 (odd) on the north side.
