Description
The stables at Woodcote Park, built in the mid-18th century, are a two-storey structure made of red brick. The building features five bays, with the center and ends slightly projecting. It has a rendered rusticated frontispiece, highlighted by a central full-height rusticated semi-circular headed arch. The upper floor of the end wings includes semi-circular windows, while the ground floors have depressed segmental arches supported by "piers" with plain stone imposts. There is a lower segmental headed arch within the outer arch; the left wing contains a garage, and the right wing has a door and windows. The roof is made of ripped slate, which is brought forward over the center and wings. Atop the roof is a square-based octagonal wooden dovecote with an arcaded design and a coved pointed lead roof. The rear of the building features a two-storey wing on the right and a stair wing on the left, with an old tile roof. Additionally, the rear has two 17th-century octagonal brick chimneys that are remnants from a former bakehouse or brewhouse.
