Description

The water tower in Foxwarren Park was built around 1860 by Frederick Barnes of Ipswich for Charles Buxton. It features polychrome brickwork and has a low-pitched roof that is obscured. The tower is square and approximately 20 feet high, consisting of three stages with angle clasping buttressing on the lower two stages. There are elaborate terracotta string courses between the stages and at the top, which includes two blind panels on the top stage. The ground floor has a round arched door in a stepped brick and terracotta surround.
