Description

Foxholm is a house dating from the 1860s, likely designed by Charles Buxton in a Foxwarren style. It is constructed of diaper patterned brick with a plain tiled roof. Features include a sawtooth eaves band and tall chimney stacks, some with decorative terracotta flues. The house is an asymmetrical Gothic villa with a chalet cottage attached to the northeast. It has two storeys and attics. The east front has two gables set on different planes, with a brick sawtooth band over the ground floor. It has leaded casement windows, including a three-light window in each gable and a five-light window in an angled bay to the right. A gabled porch with bargeboards, brick nogging below and glazed upper panels, leads to a planked door on the left corner. The south front has a large gable on the left with a pointed window on the ground floor, and another gable with cusped bargeboards to the attic on the right. The chalet addition projects forward on the right of the east front, featuring a gabled bay with a window to the right. A planked door is set within a pentice roofed porch on the right hand return front.
