Description

The D'Oyley Tomb is a chest tomb located 8 yards north of the Church of St. Mary in Walton on Thames. It is dedicated to Lieutenant Francis D'Oyley, who died in 1803. The tomb is constructed from stone and sits on a stone plinth with panelled sides. The north and south sides feature an oval inscription at the center, adorned with fan decoration at the corners. The corners of the tomb have piers with paired, raised fluted strips, and it is topped with a hipped lid.
