Description

A house, now a shop and office, dating to 1730 as indicated by the rainwater heads. The building is constructed of coursed and squared rubble stone with a gabled stone-tiled roof and a stone base to the stack topped with brick. It is two storeys and has an attic, with six bays. The detailing includes flush dressed quoins and flush stone dressings, along with a moulded wooden cornice. There are three segmental-headed dormers, and the first-floor windows are 12-pane sashes within segmental heads and tall keystones which extend to the cornice. The ground floor has 20th-century shop fronts, with a decayed Gibbs surround to the doorway in the third bay from the right. A carriage arch with a cambered head and 19th-century panelled gates is located in the left-hand bay.
