Description
No 1 Lower Upton Cottages is a cottage dating from the 16th or 17th century. It is built of rubble with a Cotswold stone roof and has one storey and an attic. The east front features an off-centre right Cotswold gable, with mullion windows that have hollow chamfer mouldings and labels. There is a 2-light window in the gable and a 3-light window below it, along with a further plain chamfered 3-light mullion window to the right. The structure extends to the left with a hipped dormer and has an ashlar chimney to the left. At the rear, there are two doors, with the right-hand one numbered 1, and later windows, except for one 3-light mullion window to the right.
