Description
No. 2 Lower Upton Cottages is a small house that was formerly two cottages, likely built in the early 18th century. The structure is made of limestone rubble and features wooden lintels, topped with a concrete plain-tile roof that has an ashlar-and-brick ridge stack. It is probably designed as a single-unit plan, although it is now combined into one dwelling. The building has one storey plus an attic. The front of the house includes two plank doors and very small windows, while the rear has four larger windows with 20th-century frames and four gabled dormers. The steep-pitched roof has a central stack with an ashlar plinth. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
