Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, possibly incorporating some earlier work, with later alterations. It is constructed of coursed stone rubble and features a stone slate roof, except for the north-facing slope which has a 20th-century cement tile roof. The farmhouse has 20th-century reconstituted-stone ridge stacks and a T-shaped plan. It is two storeys high with an attic, consisting of a two-bay main range and a single-storey-and-attic two-bay cross-wing at the rear. The main front faces north and has irregularly placed casement windows with wood lintels. There is a plank door on the left side and another plank door at the rear with a sliding wood ventilation grille.
Inside, there are winder staircases leading from the ground floor to the attic, and the cross-wing roof features an arched-braced collar truss at its center. The main range has a double-framed roof. The ceiling of the ground floor room at the end of the cross-wing has chamfered joists with ogee end-stops and a chamfered spine beam. Several rooms have open fireplaces, some of which have replaced bressumers.
