Description
This barn, located approximately 35 meters northwest of Kingham House, dates back to 1767 and has undergone minor alterations since its construction. It is built from roughly coursed limestone rubble and features alternating angle quoins. The stone slate roof has coped verges and carved apexes.
The barn has a wide entrance on the left side, with an opposing entrance at the rear. To the right of the center, there is an elliptical arch with double doors, and to the far right, a stable door with a wooden lintel. The right gable end displays 12 tiers of pigeon nesting holes, most of which have been infilled, and the date "1767" is carved on the quoin at the front corner.
Inside, the barn has a collar and tie beam roof supported by six bays with double butt-purlins, and several reused timbers are present. A loft has been inserted in the third to fifth bays from the left. The barn may have originally served as a tithe barn associated with the former rectory nearby.
