Description

Providence Cottage is a cottage that possibly dates from the early 17th century. It is built of rubble with a Cotswold stone roof and features brick chimneys. The cottage has a cross-passage plan and consists of two storeys and an attic, with a central hipped dormer. On the first floor, there are two wide-spaced, hollow chamfer, three-light windows. The ground floor has three casement windows with wooden lintels, two of which on the left side retain chamfered jambs. There is a ledged door located off centre to the right. Inside, the south room on the ground floor includes a wide chamfered inglenook fireplace with a broken wooden lintel. There is also an extension to the southwest.
