Description
Gable Cottage is a cottage dating from the 16th century or early 17th century. The front is rendered, possibly over a timber frame, and it features a Cotswold stone roof. The cottage has a twin-gabled front, characteristic of traditional Cotswold architecture. It includes 20th-century oak casement windows, with angled oriel windows in a 1:3:1 arrangement on the first floor and angled bay windows in a 1:4:1 arrangement on the ground floor, all topped with Cotswold stone roofs. There is a door on the left that slightly projects, with a 20th-century window to its left. Inside, there is an arch-braced structure that may be a cruck, with one blade visible at the rear and the other likely built into the wall. A heavy spine beam supports the floor and features a deep chamfer.
