Description
Pytts Barn, located approximately 12 meters southeast of Pytts House on Church Lane, is a barn that has been converted into a forge. It likely dates back to the early 17th century and is constructed from stone coursed rubble with a stone slate roof. The barn features six bays and has a blocked doorway to the right of the center, which has 20th-century glazing and a wooden lintel. There are also 20th-century sliding doors at the opposing rear entrance, which has a concrete lintel. Inside, the barn has a trenched purlin roof, along with 20th-century common rafters and a plank ridge.
