Description

The entrance to The Old Vicarage is an entrance screen wall and doorway dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, possibly created by the workshop of Christopher Kempster. It is constructed of ashlar and measures approximately 6 meters long and 2 meters high. The coping is ramped up in the center of an elliptical headed archway, featuring a raised flat architrave with a key-stone and cock-bead, along with a studded door. Notably, there are four 15th-century gargoyles positioned on the coping.
