Description
The Thatched Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble with timber lintels and features a thatched roof. The building is single storey with an attic and has a three-window range. The central entrance is a plank door, which is flanked by one 20th-century casement window on the left and two on the right, all situated under original lintels. There are two half dormers that contain side-hung casements with glazing bars. The cottage has two stone chimneys at the gable ends. To the right, there is a later single-bay extension that includes one attic casement. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have an open fireplace in the room to the right of the door and an original wooden winder stair in the single-bay extension.
