Description

Two cottages, likely dating from the 18th century, are attached to a former tannery (which is not part of the listed building). The cottages are constructed of rubble with ashlar dressings and have a Cotswold stone roof. They face east, and are two storeys high with an attic. A small gabled dormer window is visible on the right, and a gabled cross-wing extends from the left end of the building, marking the road end. Two windows are present, featuring 3-light casements from the 20th century, set within keyed surrounds. A centrally positioned door has a bracketed stone hood with glazing. An ashlar and brick chimney is located at the rear (west) of the cross-wing. Chapman's Piece is an irregular, two-storey extension that steps downhill to the north, connecting with the former tannery (which is not included).
