Description
29 Church Green is a house dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof with ashlar end stacks. The house has a three-unit plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a symmetrical three-window façade.
The entrance is a mid-18th century six-panelled door, topped by a timber lintel and sheltered by a mid-19th century wrought-iron trellised porch. The windows include mid-19th century tripartite plate-glass sashes, with a single-pane sash located above the door, all featuring timber lintels. There are two gabled roof dormers, each with 2-light leaded casements.
To the left of the main house is a range built of limestone rubble, covered with an artificial stone slate roof and featuring a brick stack. This section is one storey and an attic, with a two-window range that includes a 20th-century door and garage entry, a similar mid-19th century tripartite sash, and two gabled dormers with 2-light leaded casements. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
