Description

The walls attached to and north of Woodstock Gate were likely built around 1723 by Nicholas Hawksmoor. They are made of squared and coursed limestone with ashlar coping. At the corners and where they connect to Chaucer's House on Park Street, there are piers featuring moulded entablatures. Blenheim Park, where these walls are located, is recognized in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission Register of Parks and Gardens at Grade I.
