Description
The Thomas Buckland Memorial is a chest-tomb located near the southwest corner of St John's Churchyard. Although Thorns Buckland died in 1850, the tomb likely dates from around 1790, as indicated by the date inscribed on the south side. It is constructed of ashlar and features moulded panels with plain corners and a moulded cornice. The tomb has a stepped capping with a moulded ridge, following the bale tradition.
