Description

The property comprises a house and two attached cottages, likely dating from the late 16th century, with later alterations. The house is constructed from stone rubble with a stone slate roof, featuring a stone end stack to the right and a rendered brick end stack to the left. It was probably originally a hall house, subsequently altered to a two-unit through-passage plan. The house is two storeys and has an attic, with a three-bay, two-window front. A sash door is located to the left of centre, under a wooden lintel. There are three-light casement windows to the left and to the right of centre, with a single-light casement between the ground and first floors to the right. Raking half-dormers with three-light casements are present to the first floor, both to the left and to the right of centre. Gabled dormers are also found to the left of centre and on the right. The interior features a trenched-purlin roof showing signs of smoke-blackening, a wooden winder staircase from the ground floor to the first floor, and a straight-flight wooden staircase with winders leading to the attic. An open fireplace is located on the ground floor to the right, which likely occupies a former smoke bay. Part of the original through-passage now forms a dining alcove.

Attached to the house are two cottages, probably dating from the 17th century, with later alterations. They are constructed from stone rubble with a stone slate roof and stone stacks. The cottages are single storey and have an attic, with an irregular fenestration of casements, except for six-pane sashes to the right. Gabled dormers are present to the left and the right of centre, and cross-gables are located in the centre. The interior of the cottages has not been inspected.
