Description
This lockup, located approximately 20 meters northeast of the Church of Saint James the Great, is likely from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is built from squared and coursed limestone and features a stone slate roof. The structure is a single storey with a gable front. The doorway has a flat stone arch and a nail-studded boarded door, which is fitted with wrought-iron strap hinges, an internal sliding bolt, and an iron-barred grille. Inside, there is a patterned stone floor and a circular domed ceiling made from corbelled stone slates. A bench runs along the rear wall, complete with an iron ring for shackles.
