Description
Corner Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, with a late 18th-century addition. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features stone slate roofs. The building has a two-unit baffle-entry plan, with a slightly taller one-unit addition on the right side. It stands two storeys high and has an off-centre stone ridge stack to the left, as well as an integral brick end stack to the right. The front has three windows, which include 19th and 20th-century two- and three-light wooden and metal casements with wooden lintels. There is a glazed door located between the first and second windows, off-centre to the left, which is sheltered by a 20th-century gabled porch. To the left, there is a 20th-century lean-to addition. The interior has been partially inspected and features a left-hand ground-floor open fireplace with a chamfered lintel. The occupant reported in March 1987 that there are circular stone cellar stairs.
