Description
The icehouse, located approximately 220 meters south of Kiddington Hall, is likely from the 18th century. It features a circular domed brick chamber that is set beneath an earth mound. The entrance is on the north side and consists of a segmental brick arch with stone above, accessed by a brick passageway that formerly had a gabled roof, which has since collapsed (as of April 1987). This icehouse is positioned on the south side of the lake in Kiddington Park, directly opposite Kiddington Hall. Kiddington Park and its gardens are also listed in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission for England Register of Parks and Gardens at grade II.
