Description

This is an early 18th-century barn situated approximately 10 metres north-west of the farmhouse at Heath Farm. The barn is constructed from squared coursed limestone with quoins and has coped gables supported by moulded kneelers, topped with moulded ball finials. It has a slate roof. It likely comprises four bays, with a large porch in the centre of the front elevation, the gable of which is coped, with moulded kneelers and moulded ball finials at the apex. Graduating pigeon holes are present in the gable, with a diamond-shaped opening below. A basket-arched doorway, now blocked, is located centrally. Bays to either side of the porch project forward, featuring catslide roofs. Plank doors with segmental-arched heads are also present. Triangular ventilation holes are set into the gable ends. Inside, the barn has a through-purlin roof. The barn was previously listed under the parish of Little Compton (entry number 1355523), but that listing was removed on 25 May 2018.
