Description

The Elizabeth White memorial is a box tomb located about 14 meters west-southwest of the porch of the Church of St John. It dates from the mid-17th century and is constructed of ashlar stone with a heavy cyma-moulded capping. At the east end, there is an indent for a brass inscription that reads: "Elizabeth White willingly and peaceably/changed her vile enjoyments here for/those right precious and unspeakable/Feb XIIII MDCLI."
