Description

The gatepier, attached walls, and gates located approximately 25 meters southeast of Lee Place in Charlbury have origins dating back to the 18th century and were remodeled in the 19th century. The structure is made of coursed limestone rubble and ashlar. The rusticated gatepier features vermiculated panels topped with a ball finial. The enclosing wall has pitched coping and includes a central round-headed arch with a simple moulded keyblock and imposts, along with an iron gate. There is another opening with a basket arch, and the wing wall ends in a pier that also has a ball finial.
