Description
Pinkhill Farmhouse is an early 18th-century farmhouse with later alterations. It is constructed from squared and coursed limestone and features a stone-coped double-gabled stone slate roof, along with moulded stone ashlar end stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and consists of two storeys and an attic, with a three-window range.
The front has a brick segmental arch and surrounds for a 20th-century two-light casement window located above a 19th-century central four-panelled door, which is topped by a Welsh slate pentice. There are similar brick architraves for the 20th-century three-light casements, and two roof dormers with matching casements. To the right, there is an early 18th-century outshut made of similar materials, while the outshut to the left was replaced in the 19th century. The rear elevations are similar in style.
Inside, the farmhouse features 18th-century panelled doors with hinges, and an early 18th-century dog-leg staircase with a winder leading from the first floor to the attic, which has turned balusters on a closed string. The roof is supported by butt-purlins. This farmhouse is an early example of a double-depth design.
