Description
Swinford Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, which was altered and extended to the left in the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a 20th-century tile roof with a stone-coped gable on the left side, along with 20th-century brick ridge and end stacks. The building has an L-plan layout with a rear right wing and stands two storeys high, comprising a four-window range. There are timber lintels above a 19th-century six-panelled door with an overlight, located to the left of centre, and the windows are a mix of two-, three-, and four-light leaded casements. Inside, there is an open fireplace that includes a bread oven and a smoking chamber in the rear right. The right wing has a collar-truss roof with butt purlins.
