Description

A house, now comprising houses and a shop, likely dating from around 1770-80, with earlier origins and extensions added in the early 19th century. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble, with a gabled concrete tile roof and brick stacks at the ridge and left end. It has a three-unit plan and two storeys with an attic. The front elevation has a three-window range. A chamfered basement window suggests earlier origins. A C20 flat stone arch sits over the central doorway. To the right are C19 three-light casement windows with glazing bars, and above is an 8-pane sash window above a C20 shop window to the left. A C19 two-light casement is positioned above the shop window. The right side wall features a keyed cambered stone arch over a 6-pane sash window above a door with a flat stone hood. Early 19th-century two-storey rear wings and a brewhouse are built of stone and brick, with Welsh slate roofs. Internally, there are chamfered beams, an open fireplace to the right, and 18th-century ribbed and plank doors. The first floor was not inspected.
