Description

This headstone, dating from the late 17th century, is located approximately 7 meters southeast of the south porch and 8 meters south of the nave of the Church of St. Martin in Bladon. It is made of limestone and features a skull at the top, which is set in a scrolled design. The headstone commemorates William Hopkins, who died in 1682. The inscription reads: "Reader upon me cast thine eye/as thou are heare now so was I/but death of me a debt did claime/I paid it, thou must do the same."
