Description

This is a dovecote and attached outbuilding, likely built in the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The dovecote itself is made of squared and coursed limestone with stone dressings and has a pyramidal stone slate roof topped with a lead finial. The structure has two levels, with the dovecote at the south-west end rising two storeys over a basement, while the outbuilding is a single storey.

The south-west front of the dovecote includes a lunette loft opening with a moulded cill, a boarded door at ground level with a wooden lintel, and three square openings above set in a large, decayed stone lintel. The left-hand return front features a central window with a wooden lintel and two boarded doors, also with wooden lintels; the right-hand door leads to the dovecote's basement.

Inside the dovecote, there are three tiers of nesting boxes built into the walls, along with wooden ledges and spacers. A central wooden potence supports the structure, and the roof is supported by crossed tie-beams.
