Description
Woodside is a house dating from the early 18th century, with later alterations. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with a rendered front and features a hipped stone slate roof, along with brick ridge and end stacks. The building has a U-plan layout with rear wings, standing two storeys high with an attic and a three-window range.
The entrance is marked by a late 18th-century doorcase that has a bracketed open pediment above a six-panelled door, which is topped with a decorative overlight. To the left, there is a late 19th-century square bay window featuring two-pane sashes and a dentilled cornice, while a 20th-century French window is located to the right. On the first floor, there are six-pane sashes and a central semi-circular-arched sash, all set within moulded stone architraves. A cyma-moulded cornice runs beneath the parapet, and there are two gabled roof dormers.
The right side wall includes late 18th-century sashes as well as an earlier 18th-century sash with thick glazing bars. The 18th-century wings at the rear are built from similar materials. Inside, there is a panelled room dating to around 1750 located to the right.
