Description
Taynton Millhouse is a former mill and mill house, now a residential property, likely dating from the late 16th century. It is constructed of coursed squared stone and features a stone slate roof with various stone stacks. The building has a two-storey-and-attic, five-window range on the right side, and a two-storey, five-bay range to the left. A 20th-century glazed door is located at the center of the main range. On either side of this main range are three-light casements, while the first floor has two-light casements, except for a single-light casement in the center. There are also two gabled full dormers. To the left of center in the left range, there is another 20th-century glazed door, and to the right of center, a 20th-century six-panel door, both of which are topped with stone hoods on brackets. The fenestration is irregular, with many 20th-century openings featuring two-light casements. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted that the mill machinery has been removed.
