Description

Childrey House is a house dating to the late 18th and early 19th centuries, with an earlier, mid-18th century bay to the right. Originally a single unit, it was extended in the late 18th or early 19th century to a three-unit lobby-entry plan. The house is constructed of Flemish bond brick with flared headers, and has a stone slate roof and brick stacks. It has a symmetrical facade of two storeys and four windows. A C20 entrance door sits under a segmental arch, with overlights. The original windows are largely 3-light leaded casements, with three 3-light windows and one 2-light window to the rear. The roof is gabled, with one ridge and two end stacks. The interior has not been inspected. It is attached to a mid-19th century two-storey building, likely a stable and coach house.
