Description
This is a barn located approximately 20 meters southwest of Abbey Manor Farmhouse. It is likely from the mid-17th century and features a six-bay design, with a four-bay barn at right angles to the left. The barn has a brick plinth and painted 20th-century breeze-block walls at the front, while the rear showcases timber-framing. The roof is made of corrugated asbestos sheets.
The six-bay barn includes a hipped midstrey to the right of center, which has 20th-century double plank doors. There is a gabled opposing midstrey at the rear, complete with wooden dove-boxes in the gable. The roof is a queenpost design with some windbraces and some replacement common rafters.
The barn at right angles to the left also has a brick plinth, timber-framing with weatherboarding, and a 20th-century plain-tile roof. This four-bay barn features a lean-to midstrey to the right of center, which also has double plank doors. It has a queenpost roof. Together, the two barns create a continuous L-shaped structure with no dividing wall.
