Description

This chest tomb, dating from the late 18th century, is located approximately 2 meters south of the east end of the nave of the Church of St. Denys in Stanford-in-the-Vale. It is constructed from limestone ashlar and features a Neo-classical style. The tomb has a moulded plinth and cornice, with corner balusters adorned with drapery swags. The sides of the tomb have illegible oval inscription panels, which are surrounded by Neo-classical urns and trailing foliage carved in low relief. The end panels are plain.
