Description
The Corner House is a building that consists of two early 18th century cottages, which have been converted into a house. A bay was added to the right side in the late 19th century. The structure is made of coursed limestone rubble with brick quoins on the right side, and it features a late 19th century tiled roof with brick stacks. The layout follows a two-unit lobby entry plan, which was extended by one unit to the right in the late 19th century.
The building has two storeys and a three-window range. There are concrete lintels above a 20th century door on the right and a blocked door on the left. The left side has timber lintels, while the right side features a concrete lintel above three-light casements. The roof is gabled, with a truncated late 19th century gable end stack on the right and a ridge stack.
Inside, the left room was originally divided into two spaces and includes a chamfered wooden bressumer over the fireplace, along with a chamfered and stopped beam. The interior also features late 19th century doors, a straight flight of stairs, and a roof structure. The building is included for its group value.
