Description
Ranger Cottage is a house that likely dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick featuring flared headers in Flemish bond and has a slate hipped roof with brick stacks at the rear. The building is two stories high and has a two-window range positioned at right angles to the lane. The entrance is a six-panel door located in the center, which is sheltered by a late 19th-century open gabled porch. All openings are fitted with 16-pane unhorned sash windows that have stone lintels. To the left, there is a single-storey-and-attic cross-wing with one bay, which includes a three-light casement window with a segmental brick head and keystone on the right return. The interior has not been inspected. Ranger Cottage is included in the listing for its group value.
