BUSCOT Buscot Park, West Lodges and gate.

Pair of lodges and gate. Westernmost lodge. Circa 1780 remodelled in 1934- 5 by Geddes Hyslop when a second lodge was built to east to form a pair. The result is a 1930s adaptation of late Georgian neo-Classicism. Fine ashlar with dentil cornices and hipped slate roofs. L shaped plans of 2 storeys with relieving arches on three sides within which are heavily keyed sash windows. 2nd Baron Faringdon's coronet over both roadside windows. 2 panelled stone gatepiers with moulded cornices and shaped tops. Good 1930s ironwork gates.
