Description
The monument to Alicia Clayton is a chest tomb located approximately 3 meters south of the chancel of the Church of St. Faith in Shellingford. It commemorates Alicia, the wife of Richard Clayton, and dates from around 1643. The tomb is made of limestone ashlar and features a moulded plinth and cornice. There are plain inscription panels on the sides and one end, although most of the text is illegible. One end panel displays the arms of the Clayton family, bordered by acanthus scrolls.
