Description
Coxwell Lodge is a house built around 1800 to 1820, featuring roughcast render and later additions. The original structure has a square plan and is two stories high, topped with a modern tile cross-gabled roof and a central rendered chimney stack. The north and south fronts have coped parapets and paired gables.
All the windows have intersecting glazing bars. On the south front, there are two shallow, two-story curved bays with triple windows separated by fluted strips, along with projecting eaves and moulded soffit boards. A similar one-story bay is located on the east side. The north front includes a pair of exposed box glazing bar sash windows on the ground floor to the east and a projecting glazed porch to the west. Above, there are similar sash windows to the west and a four-light casement to the east.
A long service wing, which is a later addition, extends along the west side and projects to the north. This section is also roughcast and features sash windows similar to those on the main house. Elsewhere, there are stone mullioned Tudor-style windows. The large porch at the north end has a rusticated surround and intersecting tracery in the arched fanlight.
