Description
Rectory Cottage and the adjoining cottage to the west are two cottages dating from the 17th century. They are constructed with timber framing featuring square framing and diagonal braces, while the left bay has irregular and lighter framing. The cottages have a thatched roof and brick stacks, forming an L-plan. The buildings are one and a half stories high and have a three-window range. There is a 20th-century porch and door on White Cottage, with a rear right gable entry to the adjoining cottage. The windows are 20th-century casements, and the roof is hipped with a ridge stack. The interior has not been inspected. At the rear, there are 20th-century and 19th-century lean-tos. The earliest part of the building is likely the two bays on the left side of the front wall, with the wing to the rear right and the framing on the extreme right front being later 17th-century additions.
