Description

This is a two-story building on Ock Street, originally a public house known as the Happy Dick. It dates back to the 17th century and has been altered since then. The building has a timber frame on a rubble base, with the upper story roughly rendered and the ground floor rendered with a plinth. There is a gabled dormer and a double-hung sash window. To the right, a gabled overhang features one window with a three-light metal casement under a moulded wooden lintel. To the left of the building is a wooden band with a cornice that runs between the stories. On the ground floor are two three-light casement windows. A gabled overhang to the right is supported by carved pilasters and brackets. The doorway is flanked by Ionic pilasters carved in a Jacobean style, with a flat wooden hood on brackets, and it has a plain door. Rubble is visible on the side of the building, and a brick addition extends to the rear.
