Description
Manor Farmhouse, now a house, dates from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with brick quoins and dressings, featuring a gabled roof of old tiles and symmetrical brick end stacks. The house has an L-shaped plan with a rear right wing. It is two storeys and an attic, with a three-window front. A carved bracket supports a flat hood over a panelled front door, which has an overlight above. Tripartite sash windows are topped with gauged brick flat arches, as is a six-pane sash window above the door. A storey band and dentilated brick eaves run along the top of the building. A mid-18th century service range, built of similar materials, adjoins the front to the right, and is one storey and an attic with a two-window range. This section has gauged brick flat arches over adjoining two-light leaded casements and a two-light casement in a gabled half dormer. A rear wing is also built in similar materials and style. A 20th-century porch has been added to the left side of the front. The interior and rear of the property were not inspected but are considered likely to be of interest.
